Joining the Guard
Step 1: Creating a character
T IS
not mandatory to create a new character for joining the Britannia
Guards, but it's recommended. However, there are a few rules
regarding what looks and skills you character should and should not
have:
- Your character must have a good name. We do not allow
characters with copied names from books or films.
- Your character must have a good-standing karma.
- The follow skills are banned from LB:
- Necromancy
- Poison
- Snooping
- Your character cannot be of a typically evil race, such as
a drow, an orc or a vampire.
Step 2: Your character
REATING
a role-playing character is not about 'What skills do I want
to GM?'; it is about 'Who is this person I will be playing?'. You need
to consider your character concept carefully in order to create a
character that is convincing, interesting, and above all, fun to play!
Read our role-playing essay
before you continue.
Step 3: The rules
S WE ARE
members of the Community of Roleplayers,
Europa, we follow a set of rules that applies to almost all RP-guilds.
In addition to this we have a set of specialized rules just for the Guard.
Make sure you read them before joining.
Step 4: Enlisting
HEN YOU
have completed the two previous steps, it is time to contact the officers
of the Guard and apply to be enlisted. Here follows a listing of our
current recruitment contacts:
-
Baron Edmund Fairholm
-
Sergeant Esmeralda
-
Henrich Beaufort
ELCOME
to the King's Guard, the Britannia Guards! Make sure you

Recognizing that I volunteered as a Britannia Guard,
fully knowing the hazards of my chosen profession, I will always endeavor
to uphold the prestige and honour of the Britannia Guards. I accept the
fact that as a Britannia Guard my Kingdom expects me to move further,
faster and fight harder than any other warrior.
Never shall I fail my comrades. I will always keep
myself mentally alert, physically strong and morally straight and I
will shoulder more than my share of the task whatever it may be, One
Hundred-percent and then some.
Gallantly will I show all Britannia that I am a
specially selected and well trained warrior. My courtesy to superior
officers, neatness of dress and care of equipment shall set the example
for others to follow.
Energetically will I meet the enemies of the Britannia.
I shall defeat them on the field of battle for I am better trained and will
fight with all my might. Surrender is not a Britannian word.
I will never leave a fallen comrade to fall into the
hands of the enemy and under no circumstances will I ever embarrass my
Kingdom.
Readily will I display the intestinal fortitude required
to fight on to the Guards objective and complete the mission, though I be
the lone survivor.
